Saving on Grok Bot Usage

I'm using Grok Bot a heck of a lot, and I'm finding it really competent at most orchestration tasks. It's incredibly reliable when setting an objective and just let it get on with a task.

I've messed around quite a bit with OpenClaw and Hermes, while the rest of my team have also been using Claude Cowork and other agentic tools. But what I imagined wanting to do with OpenClaw and Hermes in terms of a multi-agent setup, Grok Bot is simply doing out of the box.

In Grok Bot, I've got several agents set up with different skill sets that make them specialists in their specific areas. Then I have around three project or product managers assigned various products and projects, talking to the other Grok Bot agents as and when they need to.

What I've found, though, because I'm using it so much, is that I'm chewing through the usage incredibly fast.

I wanted to replace the personal assistant Hermes agent I've had running for the last few months. That handles a lot of calendar and email management, alongside day-to-day reviews of things like my Granola notes to turn them into ClickUp tasks. With Grok Bot being so reliable, my first instinct was to move those tasks over rather than running them in my existing Hermes setup.

However, using Grok Bot for other tasks has eaten up so much usage that hitting my weekly limit has become quite frustrating. My personal assistant is suddenly no longer available, and I rely on it to keep things clean and tidy.

So I've been looking at alternative solutions, and it's quite simple really. Because Grok Bot runs in its own virtual machine, it's able to install CLI tools. That means you can make use of your existing subscriptions - things like Claude Code, Antigravity, or Codex can all run as CLI tools. Grok Bot can then sit in the middle as the orchestrator for certain tasks and farm them out to those subscriptions, saving on your Grok Bot usage.

It's nothing too complicated, but for anybody out there facing the same issues, it really helps. For those specific, more intensive tasks, if you already have an existing subscription elsewhere, bring that in via the CLI and save a bit on your Grok Bot usage.
